It's always a pleasure to dine here. Home grown vegetables that explode with flavor. I don't bother with the menu any more, I just order one of Michel's specials and enjoy!
Cafe Michel was recommended to us by other people we knew so we found the restaurant in Clifton Forge. The interior was nice and the waitress was perfect! ... the disappointment came when the meal was served. I ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, they were breaded and soaked with oil but I ate them. My main dish was poached salmon that was different from any other salmon I've ever eaten and I don't mean in a good way, it had no texture and was sitting in sweet lobster sauce. If this is French cooking I'll pass. The salad was good but no better than I've had in less expensive restaurants. My wife said her food was okay but we agreed that for the money we'll go elsewhere. I've read glowing reviews from others and wish we could say the same.
My friends have been talking about this place for some time now. Well, I must say... it lives up to the hype! I had a fabulous meal... salmon poached in lobster sauce! The space is small and intimate, the waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. Nice wine selection... An all around great experience. Cannot wait to return!
Dinner tonight was very special evening. This is a must visit place the food is exceptional and the service is better than most Five Stars Restaurants I have been to. They could teach Disney what the next level of customer service should be. The chef is a definite Treasure in the world of Culinary Arts. Presentation, taste, and portion sizes are perfect
